The end...........

Fancy Dress Disco

What a sight to be seen as the Rookwood pupils paraded their fancy dress costumes done the high street, as they walked to the disco. What a fantastic night we all had with everyone dancing from the beginning to the end. The winners of the fancy dress was Lewis Fuller as Where's Wally? and Daisy Hayward as a Minion. Owen Natress won the best dancer award as he never stopped from the moment he arrived until the moment he left.

We are coming home.

After a very early start we have finally made our way through to the boarding area. Not long now and we will all be home. Keep following the blog later as we have ski presentation photos and pictures from last nights disco to follow. See you all soon.

Last day on the slopes

As the cloud comes down today has been a sad day. Lessons have come to an end and awards have been given out. Everybody achieving very highly. Although conditions have not been at their best the pupils have had great fun running on and off piste, free styling and visiting the snow park.  Skis have been returned and it is time to pack. Before that lets get ready to disco.

Today's been a snow day

Prune of the Day

The winner of today's prune of the day is Theo Thompson. He won the hat and jersey for being able to knock over two people who had come over to help him, after he had fallen over himself and was laid out on the ground. Congratulations Theo the group has voted and you are today's prune of the day.

Pizza Night pt2

Pizza Night

Tonight we have had the most fantastic pizza night. With many different types of pizza to choose from the plates kept coming and coming and coming. We had the classic cheese and tomato, ham and cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni and roast dinner pizza; minced beef with roast potatoes. Everyone full up with the record for the most pizza slices going to Gareth Brooker with 15. He even helped out the staff.

Today in the mountains

The weather in the mountains today is not it's usual bright sunny self. However, mood in camp does not quite reflect that and everyone is up bright and early, full of the joys of Spring.

Goodnight from Italy

As the moon rises over the mountains and the quiet descends upon our little village the Rookwood pupils have had a quiet but good night playing games. In the hotel the younger pupils played Guesstures in teams and the older pupils wandered back to the local sports hall.  All mixed up and playing together the teams shared fun and laughter whilst enjoying the competition.

Prune of the day Wednesday

Today's Winner of the beautiful yellow jersey goes to Henry Robins. Henry won today's prize for tripping up off the ski lift and falling into the mud. This is one of the number of nominations has had from walking into poles and skiing into stop signs.

P of the D

Last night prune of the day was won by Ben Arnold. He won the yellow jersey for ice skating across the lounge floor performing a beautiful bollareo, after being told not to come inside with his boots on. Congratulations Ben you are today's prune of the day.

Games room time

Fun was had at the games room last night. Pool being played by all; pupils v staff, international table football and dancing on the dance machine. Highlight was Alfie winning well over a 1000 tokens on the games machines and bringing home a penny skateboard, luckily Mrs Barber has offered to bring it home in her suitcase.

Fun times

Whinge Wednesday

It's a very somber morning as Whinge Wednesday arrives. Lots of tired pupils today but the sun is out, the weather is fresh and the mountains look beautiful.
Let's show some resilience, let's get those boots on and feel the mountain.

Beginners day part 2

What a day

After a really smooth journey yesterday day one was a little more testing. With 50 pupils to get out of the boot room we split them into ability groups to try and speed things up a bit. The year 11 boys were so helpful especially Henry and Theo...thanks boys. So although most of the skiers managed to get to lessons on time some were 15 minutes late...still not too bad. The instructors made some strange decisions early on but I had a word at lunchtime and fortunately they listened and made some changes so the groups were more balanced. We even had snow as we left lessons. Off to a music quiz tonight then more skiing tomorrow.  Liz Brown

Ben's amazing skiing

Today I learnt to lift up my foot for the parellel turn😂and met the instructor and almost went to the top😊I went down the slope in race position and went roughly 17mph😀😄Davide was very impressed😊and I didn't fall over😳😉😊.

As the afternoon draws to an end the clouds have rolled in. We have lost the brilliant blue skies that have been here all day and it has been replaced by frozen flacked shaped water. It's snowing!!!!
Tomorrow will be a powder day.
